Marie Ledoux

OPELOUSAS, LAFuneral services for Marie Ledoux, 93, will be held at 10am on Tuesday, January 14 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, with burial in St. Landry Catholic Church cemetery. Msgr. Paul Metrejean will recite the Rosary and be the celebrant of the Mass of Christian Burial, music will be provided by Richard Sellers.
Ms. Ledoux passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Opelousas General Hospital Emergency Room after a long illness.
She was born and raised in Prairie Ronde, Louisiana, a resident of Opelousas for many years, and a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She was a trusted and valued employee of J.W. Low 5 to 1 Store, Inc., and Marcann, Inc. of Opelousas. Ms. Ledoux was known for her green thumb, with her pretty yard winning Garden of the Month many times over the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard B. and Helena Christ Ledoux of Prairie Ronde, and all of her siblings, Clara Pitre, Layton Ledoux, Otis Ledoux, Mattie FaKouri, Emmett Ledoux, Harris Ledoux, and Wilda Lafleur. She is survived by nieces and nephews Jane Ledoux Barousse of Baton Rouge, Leonard Ledoux of Opelousas, Tommy Ledoux of New Orleans, Suzanne Ledoux Anding of Houston, Joan Ledoux Gammill of Arkansas, Glenda Ledoux Shaw of Lafayette, Gayle Ledoux Anderson of Lafayette, Harris Ledoux, Jr. of Monroe, Harvey Ray Ledoux of Prairie Ronde, Larry Lafleur of Prairie Ronde, Janis Lafleur Barber of Lafayette, Miriam Lafleur Trahan of Milton, and Paula Lafleur of Eunice. Ms. Ledoux will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all as a beloved family member, good neighbor and good friend.
Visiting hours will be observed from 2pm to 9pm on Monday, January 13, and from 8am until time of services on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. A rosary will be recited at 6 pm on Monday evening.
