Opelousas– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Marie Latiolais Lanclos on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Msgr. Keith DeRouen will officiate the Mass. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas; the rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Marie, age 101, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 1, 2022 at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas surrounded by her loving family.
Marie served her country proudly as a cook in the United States Army during WWII. She served as cafeteria manager with the St. Landry Parish School Board. In her free time she enjoyed needle work and puzzles; her favorite however, was reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. Marie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marie is survived by her sons, James Lanclos of Opelousas, Robert Lanclos and wife, Marie of Leonville; daughter, Dorothy Dossmann and husband, Don of Opelousas; brother, Harry Latiolais of Jennings; sisters, Lou Elise “Blackie” Domingue of Carencro, Pearl Latiolais of Morgan City and Theresa Guidry of Carencro; 7 grandchildren, Amy Lafleur, David Dossmann, Marc Aymond, Hunter Lanclos, Melissa Lanclos, Kevin Lanclos, Michael Lanclos and Dax Dossman; 9 great-grandchildren, Alex Dossmann, Courtney Dossmann, Aubrey Parker, Olivia Lanclos, Reese Lanclos, Kathryn Lanclos, Taylor Lafleur, Landon Odom and Layton Brown; and dear family friend, Darlene Roberie.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Curley Lanclos; parents, Eurianne and Albert Latiolais; grandson; Jonathan Douglas Lanclos; brothers, A.B., Gilbert, John, Frank, Arthur and Willie Latiolais; sisters, Ella Mae Cole, Blanche Taylor and Eva Welsh; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Bell Lanclos.
Pallbearers will be David Dossman, Michael Latiolais, Marc Aymond, Kevin Lanclos, Michael Lanclos and Hunter Lanclos.
