Marie Jenke

Opelousas Funeral Services for Mrs. Marie Dalgo Jenke, age 73, will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery in Goudeau, LA.
Father Pete Smith will officiate the services.
Marie was a native of Goudeau, LA, and was a resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010, at her residence.
She has worked in retail sales for many years at Woolco and Dollar General. She enjoyed spending time with her family and dear friends. She especially loved to cook and share her meals with others. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Mr. Edward Jenke of Opelousas two daughters, Debbie Byrd and husband, Joe of Opelousas and Sharon Devillier and husband, David of Opelousas four grandchildren: Tyler Redmon, Chris Clarkson, Joshua Byrd, and Sarah Byrd Wyble and one greatgrandchild, Kirsten Clarkson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Dalgo and Martha Moreau Dalgo and one sister, Irene Miller.
The family requests that visitation be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, from 5 p.m.9 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
