Marie Guidroz

Port Barre -- A funeral service will be held for, Marie Alice Hollier Guidroz, at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. Reverend Picard will conduct the Service. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. Guidroz, age 84, a resident of Senior Village in Opelousas, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017. She was a long time resident of Port Barre and a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting in her spare time. Mrs. Guidroz will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gerald Murphy Guidroz, Sr.; her son, Gerald M. Guidroz, Jr. and wife Jane; sister, Mathilda Guidry; grandchildren, Corey James Guidroz and, Jared Paul Guidroz; great-grand children, Presliey Paige Guidroz, Triston Slayde Guidroz and, Trendon Blayde Guidroz. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aristile Hollier, Sr. and Celeste Brasseaux Hollier; brothers, Arista "Slim" Hollier and, Aristile Hollier, Jr.; sisters, Leah Agnes H. Stelly, Inez H. Auster, Diana H. Auster, Josephine Tauzin and Esther H. Graham.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. A rosary will be prayed by Reverend Picard at 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday until time of service.
