Marie Darbonne

OpelousasA Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Kidder Darbonne will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Fr. Greg Siemen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Francis Regis Cemetery.

Marie, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Wednesday at Opelousas General Health System. Marie was very faithful to her rosary and prayed several rosaries each day. She loved to read and cook and always thought of others before herself. Her biggest hobby had become spoiling the apple of her eyes, granddaughter Audree Comeaux.

Survivors include son and primary caregiver, Todd Darbonne, of Opelousas, son Richard Darbonne, and wife, Kathy of Opelousas, and daughter Melanie Darbonne Comeaux and her husband, Devin of Walker, three grandchildren, Brandi Darbonne, Heidi Darbonne, and Audree Comeaux. She is also survived by her brothers Joseph Kidder and Pierre Pete Kidder.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Edwin Louis Darbonne, her parents, Jean and Bernadette Kidder, her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Beth Darbonne, sisters, Elodie Kidder, Ernestine Darbonne, Aline Brasseaux, and brother David Kidder.

Pallbearers will be Richard Darbonne, Todd Darbonne, Devin Comeaux, Patrick Darbonne, Paul DiCapo, and Art Zoerner. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Kidder, Pierre Kidder, and Clifford Darbonne.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, July 25, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held on Friday evening in the funeral home.
