Marie Doris Castille
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Doris Lemoine Castille, age 86, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Belleview Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Castille was currently residing in the Belle Teche Nursing Center in New Iberia; where she died on Thursday, February 26, 2009.
She was born in Alexandria, La. and life brought her to Opelousas where she lived and raised her family. She was the first special education teacher in Opelousas at the Irene Shute Daycare Center. She worked 20 years in special education. In 1980 she received a Humanitarian Award for her service. Mrs. Castille was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with her family and friends. She was a devoted Catholic and she is going to be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Castille of New Orleans, Timothy Castille and wife Donna, Vancouver, Wash.; daughters, Carol C. Wamble and husband Robert of Morgan City, Linda Marie Schneider and husband David of Ariel, Wash., Laura C. Schlicher and her husband Clif of Loreauville, Theresa C. Schuyler and husband Don of Portland, Or.; brothers, Herbert Lemoine, Lafayette, Lawrence Lemoine, Lafayette; grandchildren, Robert Wamble, Amy Williams, Kristine Cipriano, Jeff Wamble, Hannah Kilgore, Nicole Costa, Erin Estilette, Lindsey Estilette, Sarah Boatman, Emily Gallegos, Sam Castille, Rebecca Schlicher and Claire Schlicher and 11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Castille was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Edward Castille, Jr.; son, Keith Joseph Castille; parents, Pierre and Ethel Lemoine; brothers, Edward Lemoine and Joseph Lemoine.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, March 1, 2009, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m and the Funeral Home reopens on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service
A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
