Opelousas Funeral services for Marie Elsie Dekerlegand Andrus , 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park, Opelousas.

Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Organ and vocals will be provided by Sharee D. Hunter.

Mrs. Andrus was born in Arnaudville, La and was currently residing in Opelousas.

She was a very loving, committed wife, mother and grandmother. She was a loving spirit with her family and giver to all who needed. She dedicated her entire life to God, family and friends. She will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband; Howard Andrus, Opelousas; sons; Larry J Andrus, Sr., Port Barre, David Andrus and wife Glenda, Opelousas, Allen Andrus and wife Vickie, Opelousas; daughters; Geraldine Andrus, Port Barre, Charlene Andrus, Port Barre; sisters; Elaine Bourgeois, Port Barre and Effie Lalonde, Port Barre; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Andrus was preceded in death by her parents, Elose and Helen Meche Dekerlegand.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday evening.
