Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Marguerite Doucet Wyble, age 86, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Landry Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum.
Father Gary Schexnayder will celebrate the Mass. Music will be provided by Mrs. Sharee Doucet Hunter.
Mrs. Wyble, whom everyone called Margaret, was born and raised in Port Barre and resided for 66 years on the Coteau in Opelousas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who spent most of her adult life as a housewife and caregiver of family members. She greatly enjoyed French music and dancing, bourree games and daily phone conversations in French with friends and family.
Marguerite Maw was greatly loved and her memories will be cherished by her daughter, Marguerite W. Gypsy Fontenot and devoted soninlaw John S. Fontenot grandson, John David Fontenot, granddaughter, Therese Andre Andi F. Torres and husband Ricky greatgrandson Brennan Michael Torres brother Norcisse Doucet and wife Jessie sistersinlaw Adele B. Doucet and Bernice S. Doucet stepchildren Joseph Wyble, Frances W. Bordelon, Warren Wyble and their families and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wyble was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Preston John P.J. Wyble, Sr. infant son, Preston Wyble, Jr. parents, Joachim and Armecia Jannise Doucet brothers, Jack Doucet, Alduse Doucet, Alfred Doucet, Paul Doucet and wife Marie, Belizare Doucet and wife Euna sisters, Marie D. Higginbotham and husband Jack, Yvonne D. Soileau and husband Emile, Cecile D. LeBlanc and husband Richard, Gertrude D. Stelly and husband George, Irene D. Guidroz and husband Calvin, Louisiana D. Leger and husband Louis.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Fontenot, David Fontenot, Ronald Wyble, Brent Wyble, Olin Stelly and Dean Higginbotham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brennen Torres, Ricky Torres, Roy Elder and Joseph Wyble.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, November 21, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Deacon Sammy Diesi will pray the Rosary.
