Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Pitre Parsons,60, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville.
Msgr. Louis Melancon will conduct the services.
Mrs. Parsons was born in Eunice, and was a resident of Opelousas. Mrs. Parsons passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Floyd Parsons, of Opelousas; one daughter, Michele Lavergne of Carencro; two brothers, L.J. Pitre of Ville Platte and Bobby Pitre of Port Barre; seven sisters, Shirley Perron of Lafayette, Pearlie Myers of Lewisburg, Marjorie Fusilier of Mamou, Manuella Barnard of Mamou, Annette Quibodeaux of Church Point, Gladys Lavergne of Grand Prairie, and Jeanette Colligan of Church Point; grandson, James Branham and grand-daughter, Colleen Branham, both of Carencro
Ms. Parsons was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Antoinette Boone Pitre and one son, Mark Lavergne.
Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Thursday visitation will continue from 8:00 am until the time of services.
Pallbearers will include Shawnee Leger, L.J. Pitre, Bobby Pitre, Ricky Quibodeaux, Louis Myers and Anthony Branham.
