Opelousas Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, for Manuel Manno Deville at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church Cemetery in Prairie Ronde. Carl Daville will officiate the services.
Manno was a native Prairie Ronde and a longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home at the age of 91. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, watching the trains pass, listening to French music. In his pastime, he would watch western movies and wrestling on the television.
Survivors include two sisters, Ozea Noel and Dora Castille, both of Opelousas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Poland Deville and Estella Ortego Deville four brothers, Egon, Linton, Wyble, and Albert Deville and two sisters, Million Deville Prudhomme and Elda Rittle.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
