Opelousas A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde, La for Mable V. MaMa Guillory. Rite of committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery. Fr. Ted Broussard will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Ms. Mable was a native of Prairie Ronde and longtime resident of Opelousas. She died peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence on August 25, 2013, at the age of 87. Ms. Mable was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to those that knew her she loved to work in her garden and then to can and preserve what she raised. She loved making fruit preserves and sharing with her loved ones. She is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Ms. Mable is survived by her son Wedrick Guillory of Opelousas daughters Marjorie Angelle and husband Raymond of Opelousas, Charlene Brown and husband Leroy of Opelousas, Georgiana Brown and husband Glendon Ray of Opelousas brother, Leo Vasseur of Prairie Ronde seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Guillory parents, Fadorin and Azeline Pitre Vasseur brothers, Theodore, Nolton and J.C. Vasseur, Sr. sisters, Ivel Vidrine, Orelia Deville, Lour Jagneaux, Leola Bellard, Luna Joubert and Rena Pitre.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, August 26, 2013, from 11 a.m. and remain open until 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday.
Fth. Austin Leger will lead the Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon in the funeral home.
