Opelousas- Funeral services for Mr. Luther James Royer, age 73, will be held at

10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Rev. Perry Hubbs will officiate the services.

Luther was born in Estherwood and was a long-time resident of Opelousas. He died on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System. He was a

U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country. He retired from Entex Gas Co. after working as a Service Technician for 25 years. Luther was a special husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was very loving to all. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mourning his death yet cherishing his memories is his wife, Robbie Kingrey Royer of Opelousas; two daughters: Lisa Royer Lee of St. Francisville; and Juli Ortego and husband, Tony of Opelousas; one brother, Julian Royer of Westlake; three grandchildren: Eric Ortego of Dallas; Cody Lee of Prairieville; and Tricia Ortego of Opelousas; and two great-grandchildren: Laila Boone and Easton Ortego.

Preceded in death by his parents: Lifford and Lillian Fontenot Royer.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas on Friday, August 28, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
