OpelousasFuneral Services for Luther Cushman will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Benny Reppond will conduct the Services. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, La.
Luther was a long time resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home in Eunice, La., at the age of 89. Luther served our Nation during WWII in the US Navy, after the war he returned to Opelousas and worked with the Department of Highways of La. He retired as a foreman with them. Luther loved raising his cattle with his son Jonathan he also loved hunting, fishing and working on cars and tractors. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, he is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving daughterinlaw, Eva Cushman of Eunice brother, James Cushman and wife Violet of Opelousas sisters, Grace Tatman of Opelousas, Mary Hutchins of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Cushman and Eula Cushman son, Jonathan Cushman parents, Charles T. and J. Cynthia Huffpauir Cushman brother, Charles Cushman and sister, Lucille Campbell.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, November 28, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of Service.
