Luke Castille

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Luke Elgie Castille, age, 79 at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017, St. Bridget Catholic Church, with, Fr. Austin Leger. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at St. Bridget in Lawtell.

Luke was a resident of Lawtell. He passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Opelousas General Health System. Luke loved his family and friends. He worked in the Oil Field for over 40 years, and also had a passion for horse racing.

Luke is survived children, Rickie Castille, of Lawtell, Kenneth Castille of Lawtell, James Castille of Lawtell, Carl Castille and his wife, Darlene of Opelousas, and Connie Fontenot, and her husband, Vernon of Leonville, his companion, Lois Pitchford of Lawtell, brothers, Carol Castille and wife, Doris of Pitreville, Murphy Castille and his wife, Judy of Lawtell, Gurphy Castille and his wife, Theresa of Pitreville, Andrew Castille and his wife, Phyllis of Lawtell, sisters, Angie Stanford and her husband, Ira of Opelousas, Shirley Olivier of Pitreville, Linda Babineaux and her husband, Daniel of Lawtell, Carolyn Faul and her husband, Dave of Lawtell and Tammy Prudhomme and her husband, Kenneth of Lawtell, sister-in-law, Sandra Castille of Lawtell, brother-in-law, Larry Robinson, twenty one grandchildren, and thirty three great grandchildren.

Luke was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mathilda Lavergne Castille, his parents, Joel Sr., and Lili Mae Richard Castille, brother, Etiene Castille, and Joel Castille, sister, Dorothy Robinson and Joann Castille.

The visitation will begin at 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017, and will reopen on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
