Ludy Faye David Latiolais

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Ludy Faye David Latiolais, age 64 , will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Landry Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Msgr. Paul Metrejean, Fr. Austin Leger, and Msgr. Robert Romero will con-celebrate the Mass.

Sharee Doucet Hunter will be the vocalist for the Mass.

Mrs. Ludy passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. She was born on January 3, 1944 in Opelousas. She was previously employed by First National Bank of Opelousas and PBX operator at both Doctors' Hospital and Opelousas General Health System. She was crowned Miss OHS in 1960 where she graduated in 1961. She was also crowned Miss Opelousas in 1961. Also, she participated in basketball and was recognized as an outstanding guard. She was a former Opelousas Yamette, and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Mrs. Latiolais devoted all of her spare time to her beloved grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clayton J. Latiolais of Opelousas; her three children: Lynette Pitre Fontenot and husband, Keith of Youngsville; Kesia Pitre Fontenot and husband, Craig of Opelousas; one son, Clayton Clay David Latiolais of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren: Hunter Andre' Fontenot, 15, and Hannah Maree' Fontenot, 7; her five brothers: Jeffery David and wife, Kathleen of Lafayette; Gordon J. David, Sr. and his dear friend, Laura Allegood; Warren David and wife, Jolene; Paul David, all from Lake Charles; and Carl David, Sr. and wife, Deborah of Shreveport; and one sister, Patsy Pat David Brown of Opelousas.

She was preceeded in death by her father, Jeffery David, Sr.; her mother, Volta Perrodin David; her father-in-law, Elie J. Latiolais; her mother-in-law, Celeste Pitre Latiolais; her brother-in-law, J.C. Brown; and sisters-in-law, Juanita Domengeaux David and Pat Biggs David.

Pallbearers will be Bryan David, Dean David, Shane Stelly, Hunter Fontenot, Craig Fontenot, and Keith Fontenot. Her nephews will be honorary pallbearers.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, May 18, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
