Opelousas A Memorial Mass for Lucio Sanchez, age 68, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.
Msgr. Robert Romero will celebrate the Mass.
Lucio was a longtime resident of Opelousas. He died on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at his home.
Lucio proudly served his country serving in the United States Air Force, retiring after twenty years of service. He then began working at the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier until his retirement. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Vidrine Sanchez of Opelousas step children: Michael and Randy Guillory of Bayou Chicot, LA., Faye Prudhomme of Ville Platte, Kathy Champagne, of Cecilia, Debbie Mott, of Garland, LA., brothers: Ignacio Dave Sanchez and wife Penny of Washington, LA., Damacio Sanchez of Dallas, TX., and Jose Sanchez of Corpus Christi, TX., sisters: Anna Gardenas of Houston, TX., Rose Sanchez, and Alice Sanchez.
Visitation will be on Friday at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Landry Catholic Church.
