Opelousas Funeral services for Lucille B. Veltin, age 75, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial park Cemetery.
Father Paul Metrejean will celebrate the Mass.
Lucille passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. She was a member of Queen of Angels prayer group. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and Bunco with her girl friends. She and her husband Manny loved to cook for their family and friends and did quite often.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and was loved by her extended family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lucille is survived by husband Arthur E. Manny Veltin Jr. of Opelousas, her children Stephen Ducharme, his wife Cindy of Hot Springs, Ark., Douglas Ducharme his wife, Loretta of Sunset, Dianne Ducharme Ludeau of Church Point, Paula Ducharme of Maryland, Keith Veltin of Opelousas, Toby Doherty and husband Patrick of Sunset, and Julie Bernard and her husband Ronald of Lafayette, sisters Barbara Scanlon her husband Michael of Sulhur, and Evelyn Lafleur her husband Sonny of Opelousas, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents Anthony Tony and Gladys Boudreaux Bertinot, and her brother Neil Bertinot.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home on Friday, December 10, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
