Lucille Credeur Marks
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Credeur Marks, 76, will be held at 2: 00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2007, in the First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. Rev. Perry Hubbs will conduct the services.
Mrs. Marks, a native of Pecaniere and long-time resident of Port Barre died at 1:26 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2007, in the Opelousas General Health System. She was a retired dispatcher for J. P. Messina Contractors in Plaquemine after many years of service. She loved to cook and spend time with the family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Dona Dieu To-To Marks of Port Barre; one son, Gerald Courville and wife, Candy Hamilton Courville of Denham Springs; one daughter, Cheryl Marks Dawsey and husband, Leonard of Lafayette; two step daughters: Elsie Marks Kidder of Cecilia; and Brenda Marks Stagg and husband, Mike of Port Barre; one step son, Kenneth Marks and wife, Sharon of Port Barre; two sisters: Helen Savoie and Mary Jane Faul and husband, Clayton; all of Port Barre; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Courville; second husband, Merrick Marks; her parents: Edwin Credeur, Sr. and Eugenia Guidry Credeur; two brothers: Alus Credeur and Edwin Credeur, Jr.; and two sisters: Lorena Credeur and Louise Aymond.
Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
A Prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
