Mrs. Landry was a native of Sunset and a resident of Cankton for many years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Sibille and Louise Guilbeau Sibille.

She graduated from Opelousas High School and received her teachers certificate from the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Grand Coteau, LA in 1928. She later attended then SLI, now U.L. to further her education. She began her teaching career in Eunice, LA where she met and later married her husband, Lloyd Ford Landry. She retired in 1968 after 33 years of teaching in the public school system in St. Landry Parish. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John Berchman Church in Cankton.

Sue was a wonderful person with the patience of a saint. She was dedicated to her profession, and inspired many of her students to further their education. There are many of her students who have given her credit for their success. She adored her family and loved having them close to her. Everyone close to her will remember her for her love and concern for everyone, and, of course, her love for crossword puzzles.
