Grand Coteau Funeral services for Mr. Loyton Joseph Lucky Courville, age 69, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton, LA. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau.
Father Russell Broussard will celebrate the Mass and Ron Moreau and Phyllis Simar will provide the musical selections.
Loyton was a native and life time resident of Sunset. He died on Friday, December 3, 2010, at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Courville worked 30 years for the Lafayette Parish School Board as the Air Conditioning Service Technician until his retirement. One of his great loves was working on his farm bailing hay and raising cattle but his greatest love was his wonderful family. He enjoyed spending time with them and was a great husband, father and grandfather. Lucky is going to be missed by his family and his many friends.
Survivors include his wife Elaine Marie Melancon Courville of Sunset son, Scott Philip Courville of Mire daughter, Jackie Lane Courville of Mire sisters, Barbara Guilbeau and husband Nolan of Sunset and Anna Mae Collins of Lake Charles and one granddaughter, Jailyn Latiolais of Mire.
Mr. Courville was preceded in death by his parents, Clayus and Angelle Savoie Courville and sisters, Verdie Richard and Delma Stout.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Sunday, December 5, 2010, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
