Loyd Savage, Sr.

OPELOUSAS- A Memorial Service will be held for Mr. Loyd Glynn Savage, Sr. at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas; visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Fr. Pete Smith will conduct the service. Inurnment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Mr. Savage, age 78, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

Mr. Savage was a huge LSU and Saints fan. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and cooking in his outdoor kitchen for his family and friends. Mr. Savage will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Loyd Glynn Savage, Jr. and wife, Aimee Cantu Savage of Beaumont, TX; daughter, Margie A. Savage and wife, Denise A. Silas of Huntsville, AL; granddaughter, Averee K. Savage; 3 step-granddaughters, Brianna Naranjo and husband, Pete, Gabriella Escalante, Lauren Brunson and husband, Drew; and 2 step-great-grandchildren, Isaac and Emily Brunson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James P and Willie Savage; brothers, James “Buck” Savage, Otis “Sambo” Savage; and sister, Margie Lay Anderson.
