Opelousas A funeral service for Louise Price Tatman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Perry Hubbs, Rev. Steven Fife, and Rev. Apostlas Murphy will officiate the Service.
Louise was a resident of Prompt Succor Nursing Home. She passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, surrounded by her family, at the age of 83. Anyone who knew Louise knew that she had the gift of hospitality. If you ever had the pleasure of staying in her home, you knew you were well taken care of. She loved to serve others. She never sat down, she was constantly attending to her guests. Her homemade biscuits and gravy were the best.
She was also a woman of great faith. She loved Jesus and spent a lot of time in Gods word and in prayer. She prayed fervently for her children and grandchildren. Her greatest desire was for them to know the Lord. Whenever she had time, she loved to go fishing. She had a couple of lifelong fishing buddies that have already passed on. I bet they are all together now fishing on the banks of a beautiful lake in heaven.
Survivors include her husband, James Jim Tatman of Opelousas, her daughters, Donna Tatman Inhern, Sissy Tatman Guidry, Doris Tatman Cates, and Amy Tatman Bernard, her brother, Louis Price, sister, Lucy Jane Nolan, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Hetty Whatley Price, her brothers, Levi, Lannie, Leslie, Lawrence and Leroy Price, her sister, Lillian Price Villard.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, November 14, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
