Louis Zeringue

LEONVILLE- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mr. Louis Zeringue, on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Reverend Ken Domingue will celebrate the Mass. Altar servers will be Logan Zeringue and William Zeringue. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.

Mr. Zeringue, age 75, a resident of Arnaudville, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Zeringue enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo. He cherished visits with his family and friends at the nursing home. Mr. Zeringue was a devoted parishioner and attended Mass regularly. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors riding his lawnmower and cutting his grass. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Scott Zeringue and wife, Nicole of Pecanierre, LA; daughters, Lisa Speyrer and husband, Kyle of Opelousas, LA, and Tammy Theriot of Arnaudville, LA; brother, John Ray Zeringue and wife, Shirley of Opelousas, LA; sister, Lou Ella Kidder and husband, Earl of Arnaudville, LA; 9 grandchildren, Nicholas, Logan and William Zeringue of Pecanierre, LA, Allie and Katie Theriot of Cecilia, LA, Tiffani Speyrer of New Orleans, LA, Casey Soileau of Garland, LA, Justin Speyrer of Garland, LA, and Brandon Fontenot of Leonville, LA; great-grandchildren, Christian Speyrer and Colton Soileau of Garland, LA, Hannah and Carson Speyrer of Garland, LA, and Wyatt, Levi and Noah Fontenot of Leonville, LA.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Guidry Zeringue; parents, Napoleon and Angella "Tela" Zeringue of Pecanierre, LA, and sister, Anna-Lee Guidry of Pecanierre, LA.

The family requests visitation be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. Reverend Ken Domingue will recite the rosary at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Scott Zeringue, Nicholas Zeringue, Keith Wyble, Mike Guidry, Brian Zeringue, and Kyle Speyrer. Honorary pallbearers will be Daryll Stelly, Logan Zeringue, and William Zeringue.
