Louis Gordon Sibille

Grand Coteau A Mass of Christian Burial service for Louis Gordon Sibille will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, in the St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton, LA. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. John Berchmans Cemetery. Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington will be the Celebrant of the Mass of Christian Burial Service.
Gordon was a native and long time resident of Bristol, La. He passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System. Gordon served our Nation during WWII in the Army Air Corps as a B24 navigator instructor, after the Service he attended SLI known today as ULL and graduated in 1949 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then began working for Sinclair Oil Co. now known as Mobile Oil Co. Gordon loved woodworking, hunting, baking and reading WWII books. He enjoyed spending time and working around St. John Berchman Church. He was happiest when playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his extended family

Gordon is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beatrice D. Sibille of Bristol son, Kent Sibille and wife Tara of Bristol grandchildren, Michael Kevin Sibille and Nathalie Catherine Sibille.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston and Mary Bell Moreau Sibille son, Michael Kevin Sibille brothers, Michael Mickey Roger Sibille, Louis Kent Sibille sisters, Mellie S. Fontenot and Willie Lee Richard.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Monday, November 17, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue at St. John Berchmans Church from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Rosary Service will be held on Monday at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
