Opelousas- A Mass of Christian will be held for Louis "Boosie" Devillier on September 13, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. A Eulogy with be at 11:45 a.m. by Iggie Castille. Visitation will began at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Louis "Boosie" Ambrose Devillier, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away September 8, 2024, at Ochsner Medical Center. He was born on February 25, 1947, in Little Teche, Louisiana. A dedicated salesman, Louis had a remarkable ability to connect with people, earning the reputation of a person who never met a stranger. His personality and witty sense of humor made him well-loved by everyone who crossed his path.
Louis was a graduate of Washington High School in 1965, setting the foundation for his successful career. Outside of work, he was an avid sportsman who relished the joy of playing baseball, basketball, softball, and golf. His passion for sports was just another testament to his active lifestyle and zest for life.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Wendy Prudhomme Devillier, of Opelousas; their son, Jodie Menard, of Opelousas; and their daughter, Haley Emonet, and her husband, Kris, also of Opelousas. Louis cherished his role as a grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love for his grandchildren: Luke Menard, Ross Menard, Ava Emonet, Camille Emonet, and John Michael Emonet, brother in law, Johnny Hargroder, sister, in law, Charlene Prudhomme Bright.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Cless and Ophelia Devillier. He also mourned the loss of his brothers: Joseph Cless, Jr., Clayton, Vernon "Peanut," and Larry Devillier, as well as his sisters: Mary Fay Fontenot, Vera Broussard, Lois Bellard, Jackie Hargroder, and Fern Devillier.
Louis Ambrose Devillier will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the deep connections and friendship he forged throughout his life. His love for his family, his engaging spirit, and his unwavering kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
