Loudell was born in Lafayette and was a longtime resident of Lawtell. She passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008, in the Opelousas General Health System.
Loudell loved three things in life: her family, going on trips to numerous events, and participating in activities with the Special Olympics and all of those things brought her much joy. She participated in many Special Olympics and won medals in volleyball and swimming. She lived life to the fullest and truly warmed the hearts of all that she met. She enjoyed going to the movies, dancing, eating, and spending time with others, and collecting purses. She also was crowned the 2005 Queen of Hope for Acadian Village. As a pastime, she would try her luck at the casino playing the slots, playing Bingo and Pokeno, and challenging her family to a card game of Greed. She was a very loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by two brothers: Simon Marks and wife, Debbie of Lynchburg, TN; and Robert Marks of Opelousas; five sisters: Mary Lormand and special friend, Maurice Castania of Arnaudville; Beverly Marks of Eunice; Betty Thibodeaux and husband, Eddie of Lawtell; Joyce Artigue and husband, Kirt of Lynchburg, TN; and Cheryl Ozenne of Lawtell; 14 nieces, 11 nephews, 21 great nieces, 22 great nephews, 13 great-great-nieces, and 8 great-great-nephews.
