Lorene Cricket Ryder
Port Barre- Funeral Services for Miss Lorene Ryder, known to many as Cricket, age 59, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, in the Courtableau Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery in Opelousas.
Bro. Shelby Andre will officiate the services.
Cricket was a long time resident of Palmetto. She died on November 14, 2009, at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two daughters: Mary Beth Ramoin and husband, Jordie of Port Barre; and Cindy Higginbotham and husband, Glenn of Charleston, Arkansas; three brothers: Elton E.J. James Ryder, Sr. of Port Barre; Roy Ryder of New Albany, Mississippi; and her twin, Lawrence Bubby Ryder and wife, Loretta of Leonville; two sisters: Leona Maxine DeVillier and husband, Ronald of Port Barre; and Leola Ryder of Bufford, Georgia; and six grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Elton Ryder and Alphosine Savoie Ryder.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre on Monday, November 16, 2009, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
