OpelousasA Mass of Christian Burial for Ms. Lisa Rachael Pitre Mistric will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park with Rev. Father Greg Simien and Father Austin Leger will concelebrant the Mass. Offertory gifts will be presented by her godparents, Deanna Doucet and Merlin Young and her godchildren, Paige Guidry and Layla Boudreaux and a special cousin, Racheal Miller. Readings will be done by Lynn B. Pitre and Cindy Kline. Music will be done by Debbie Bertinot and Sharee Doucet.
Ms. Lisa was born in Opelousas, LA on May 4, 1963 at Opelousas General. She had a full but short lived life. She was a resident of Opelousas. She died on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 51.
She was a graduate of Opelousas Catholic Class of 1981 where she was involved with many clubs and organizations on campus. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Lisa was loved by everyone and brightened a room whenever she entered. She loved baking for weddings and birthday parties, in addition to creating beautiful flower arrangements. She loved many sporting events especially LSU football. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Danielle, reading and shopping. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Danielle Simone Mistric of Opelousas her mother, Barbara Y. Pitre of Opelousas brother, Scott M. Pitre and wife, Lynn of Lafayette sister, Tiffany C. Boudreaux and husband, Frank of Prairie Ronde maternal grandmother, Ledianna L. Young of Eunice and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Earl Pitre paternal grandfather, Eldron Pitre maternal grandmother, Alice Vige Pitre step grandmother, Vernice D. Pitre and maternal grandfather, Eugene Young
Pallbearers will be Scott M. Pitre, Frank J. Boudreaux, Merlin Young, Hugh Guidry, Harold Doucet, and Collin Pitre. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Lyons, Dr. Hunt deBlanc, Logan Pitre, Richard Bellard, Sammy Diesi, Carl Clement, Blake Guidry, Mark Toten, Gregory Young, Justin Young, and Blaine Doucet.
Special thanks to her exhusband, Danny Mistric, Jr. and his fianc, Elizabeth Ann Liz Breaux and the entire Mistric Family for their assistance. Special thanks to Dr. Hunt deBlanc, Dr. James Cole, Central Hospice and Home Health, Deacon Sammy Diesi, Fr. Greg Simien, Fr. Austin Leger, and Deacon Tom Lindsey for their wonderful care and spiritual guidance. Special extended thanks to all of her caregivers, Linda Zerangue and La Veria Baham, to all of community, Our Lady of Mercy Church, The Police Department, and all those who have walked with us in prayer and support.
Visiting hours will be held in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home, 2845 South Union Street, Opelousas, on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Tom Lindsey. On Thursday, the LafondArdoin Funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
