Opelousas Daddys little girl, the former Linda Schexneider, has passed away. She was her fathers pride and joy and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Linda Schexneider Robin, age 51, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, follow by private graveside services at a later date. The Reverend Daniel Picard will be the celebrant of the Mass. Musical selections will be performed by Valerie Andrus.
Mrs. Robin who was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Port Barre, died on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Opelousas General Health System.
Linda was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister to all of her extended family. She was the soul mate to her loving husband, John Dale.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, crossword puzzles, visiting her daughter, and playing with her dogs Speck and Rocket man. She was a former employee of Savoies Sausage Kitchen with Ms. Eula Savoie, but her real love was working at Ventura Foods, where she considered her coworkers as part of her family.
Survivors include her husband, John Dale Robin of Port Barre son John Jules Robin of Port Barre daughter, Kelly Rene Robin Guidroz and husband Beau of Memphis, Tenn a brother, Joe Schexneider and wife Tina of Leonville three sisters, Melinda Allemond and husband Onezime of Port Barre, Helen Theriot and husband Bobby of Prairie Ronde, and Betty Provost and friend Jimmy of Sunset. She is also survived by her grand pups, Abi and Baxter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Lovenia Hebert Schexneider.
Lindas family would like to thank the employees of Ventura for their undying love and support during her time of illness.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, January 30, 2011, from 12 noon until service time on Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
