Linda Kannady

Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for, Linda McBride Kannady, on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Reverend Austin Leger will conduct the Service. Rite of Committal will follow at the Nathan McBride Family Cemetery in Lewisburg.

Linda, age 69, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston TX., surrounded by her loving family. Linda was a graduate from Northwestern State University and became an educator for 25 years in Louisiana and Mississippi. She was an avid LSU and Saints fan, she enjoyed cross stitching.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donald "Don" Kannady, sons, Kevin Kannady and fiancee' Krystal Weber of Pearland, Texas, Chad Edward Kannady and wife, Kerri of Denham Springs, Dr. Christopher Russell Kannady and wife, Kathryn Lee of Houston, TX.,, brothers, Dr. James Russell McBride and wife, Sandra of Houston, TX., Mark Anthony McBride and wife, Ave of Lafayette, sister, Gina McBride Sledge of Baton Rouge, grandchildren, Caden, Patrick, Abigail, Kate, Cullen, Charlotte Kannady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Margaret McBride, brother, Michael Nathan McBride Sr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Anthony School in Bunkie in memory of Mrs. Linda, at 116 South Knoll Avenue, Bunkie, LA 71322.
