Lilly M. Badeaux Breaux
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Lilly M. Badeaux Breaux, age 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2008, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville.
Fr. Ken Domingue will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Breaux was born in Pecaniere, LA. She was a graduate of Leonville High School. She married Gus R. Breaux on July 28, 1942. She lived in many places within the United States and overseas moving to her husband's different Air Force assignments. After Air Force retirement in 1968, they settled in Notleyville, La. After their children were in grade school she worked for the St. Landry Parish School System as a teachers aid.
She died on Wednesday, January 16, 2007, in Prompt Succor Nursing Home. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a good cook and loved sewing. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Gus R. Breaux; two sons, Maj. Patrick R. Breaux and wife, Elizabeth of Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Thomas L. Breaux and wife, Rebecca of Alexandria, La.; ten grandchildren: Aaron, Laiken, Collin, Jayden, Thaddeaus, Katherine and Nathaniel Breaux, Scott Deville, Travis and Jessica Clark; and a very special great niece, Tammy Stelly.
Mrs. Breaux was preceded in death by her parents, Regis Badeaux and Virginia Dalfery Badeaux; her daughter, Sandra Breaux Clark; and three sisters; Mrs. Rufus Vivian Hebert, Mrs. Y.Z. Birdie Gauthier, and Mrs. Larry Virgie Rouillier.
Visiting hours will be observed on Friday, January 18, 2008, from 3:30 pm-9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
On Saturday, visitation will continue at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Pat and Tom Breaux, Kirk, Teddy, Mike and Kyle Stelly.
