Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Jagneaux Stoute, age 89, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Father Nicky Trahan will celebrate the Mass.
Lillie was a native of the Church Point area and was a longtime resident of Port Barre. She died on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas.
She was the previous owner of the Buckhorn Caf in Lottie. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Rosary Group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary group of Port Barre.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful and loving wife, and a very devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and greatgreatgrandmother.
Survivors include three sons: Ronald Courville, Sr. and wife, Janel of Melville Dale Courville and wife, Pat of Madison, Alabama and Lawrence Stoute, Jr. and wife, Pauline of Sunset four daughters: Joyce Soileau and husband, Bobby of Port Barre Sylvia Bowy of Carencro Diane Dietrich and husband, Paul of Eunice and Venida Collette and husband, Mitch of Lottie daughterinlaw, Nat Courville of Port Barre one sister, Dorothy Manuel of Prairie Ronde 17 grandchildren, 32 greatgrandchildren, and 10 greatgreatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bee Stoute, Sr. her son, Donald Courville, Sr. parents: Joseph Cleus Jagneaux and Marie Semar Thibodeaux her stepfather, Edless Thibodeaux, Sr. four greatgrandchildren: Terrel and Randy Satterley and Eric and Ethan Courville and her four siblings: Carrie Radtke, Allen Thibodeaux, Edless June Thibodeaux, Jr., and Gerald Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Jed Soileau, Rod Courville, Richard Courville, Van Dietrich, T. J. Stoute, and Eric Collette. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Courville, Jr., Mark Courville, and Sonny Pilcher.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Friday, January 8, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Beverly her godchild, Randy special nephew, and Verbie who all gave special care and love to Mrs. Lillie during her time of need.
