Port Barre A Memorial services for will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014, at the New Life Assembly Church in Port Barre. Brother Joe Russo will officiate the services.

Nolan passed away on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System. At the age of 81. Nolan began his police career in the 1960s when he went to work as the Communication Supervisor with the St. Landry Parish Sheriffs office under the administration of Sheriff Alder Ledoux. Then he served as Port Barre Chief of Police from 19841987 and 19961999. He enjoyed fishing, going to the Casino, and riding around visiting with his family and friends.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Derek Sonnier, Khrista Sonnier, Chelsea Badeaux all of Port Barre, one great grandson, Braxton Mouille, of Port Barre, daughter in law, Shelia Badeaux, of Leonville, son in law, Danny Sonnier of Port Barre, sister, Leatrice Badeaux Sanders of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Boles Badeaux, his daughter, Brenda Badeaux Sonnier, his son, Jamie Badeaux, his parents, Onezime and Louise Badeaux.

Visiting hours will be observed in the New Life Assembly Church in Port Barre on Friday, January 24, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
