Levy Boudreaux

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial for Levy Boudreaux will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell. Fr. Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Levy was a resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at his home in Opelousas at the of age of 78. Levy went to college at S.L.I. in Lafayette for 5 years, he received his masters plus 30 in education. He spent 49 years as a teacher at Arnaudville, Opelousas Catholic and Lawtell. He was a member of Grand Knight of Columbus. He enjoyed playing cards, reading, going to the casino, working in the yard, visiting the nursing home and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Mrs. Ruth Jagneaux Boudreaux of Opelousas, children, Robert Paul Boudreaux and wife, Millie of Houston, Texas, Brent Frances Boudreaux and wife, Stacey of Idaho, and Shannon Christopher Boudreaux and wife, Amy of Florida, daughter in law, Kimberly Boudreaux Dorsey of New Iberia, brother, Hilman Boudreaux of Lawtell, sister, Mary Johnson of Opelousas, and eight grandchildren, Natile, Caitlin, Haylie, Nicholas, Valarie, Paige, Evan, and Collin Boudreaux.

He was preceded in death by son, Troy Boudreaux, parents, Theogene and Francis Lavergne Boudreaux, brother, Otis Boudreaux, sisters, Pearl Cary, Ada Ortego, and Amy Hidalgo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas and will reopen on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.
