Lester Joseph Richard, Sr.

Port Barre Funeral services for Mr. Lester Joseph Richard, Sr., age 72, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Mr. Lester was a native and a resident of Arnaudville. He lived previously in Pecaniere for many years. He passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville. He was a forklift operator for a lumber yard for many years. He enjoyed taking pictures and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Lester Richard, Jr. of Port Barre two daughters: Judy Kay Schexneider and husband, Russell of Port Barre and Linda Bellard of Port Barre one sister, Bernice Lanclos of Pecaniere 4 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Steven Richard and Marie Tate Richard Aymond and one brother, Edward C. Richard.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until time of services.
A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
