Leona Bourque Lanclos

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Leona Bourque Lanclos, age 69, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010, in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Russo officiating. Then at 11:00 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Landry Catholic Church with Msgr. Robert Romero celebrating the Mass. Interment will follow in the St. Landry Mausoleum.
Leona was a native of the Lawtell area and was a resident of Port Barre. She died on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System.
She was a homemaker and tended rearing her seven children. She would cook many meals for the family. She also handled the business affairs for the family trucking company. She enjoyed spending time at the casino with her family and friends. She was a wonderful and loving wife, and a devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Harry Lanclos, Sr. of Port Barre four sons: Harry Lanclos, Jr. of Arnaudville James Neil Lanclos, Sr. and wife, Charity of Port Barre Keith Brian Lanclos of Port Barre and Jason Michael Lanclos, Sr. and wife, Casey of Port Barre two daughters: Linda Leger and husband, Hank of Opelousas and Agnes Royse and husband, Mitchell of Woodville, TX one brother, Valerie Bourque of Lake Charles two sisters: Bridgette Matte of Lewisburg and Dora Jagneaux of Church Point and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Leo Bourque and Agnes Cormier Bourque one son, Michael Dale Lanclos and three brothers.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, January 8, 2010, from 1 p.m. with an all night wake until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
