Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Leo Berchman Savoy, age 73, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Father Austin Leger will officiate the services.
Leo was a native of Opelousas and was currently a resident of Leonville. He died on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at his home. He was a pipefitter and worked in construction for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Bordelon Savoy of Leonville two sons, Donnie L. Savoy and companion, Heather Quirk of Opelousas and Chadwick J. Savoy of OFallon, Illinois two daughters, Paula Savoy of Metairie and Denise Lafleur and husband, Bryan of Opelousas one brother, John E. Savoy and wife, Theresa of Basile 7 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Savoy and Bertha Wyble Savoy one sister, Sylvia Belle Daigle and one granddaughter, Candace Bell.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
