Port Barre Funeral Service for Mr. Leo Richard, Sr., age 93, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in the First Baptist Church in Port Barre, La and interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, La. Grandson and Pastor of First Baptist Church of Port Barre Rev. Benji Richard will conduct the Funeral Service.
Mr. Leo was a native of Church Point and longtime residence of Port Barre. He died on Friday, April 4, 2014, at his residence. Leo was a truck driver by trade and enjoyed being outdoors fishing, riding his golf cart picking up cans, listening and dancing to French Music and spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all that loved and knew him.

Survivors include his children Donald Richard and wife Ella of Port Barre, Tony Richard of Shreveport, Leo Richard, Jr. and wife Shirley of Port Barre daughters, Betty Scott and husband Jimmy of Picayune, MS., Audrey Blaisdell and husband Kim of Paducah, KY. brothers, Eugene Richard, Highland, TX., Knute Richard of Deridder, Joseph Richard, Jr. of Sulphur 23 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Jesslyn Richard parents, Joseph and Theodlia Richard sons, Tommy Richard, Harold Richard grandson, Harold Richard, Jr. 7 sisters and 3 brothers.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Monday, April 7, 2014, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
