Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lee Garland Halphen on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas MSGR. Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lee, a resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest on May 25, 2023, at the age of 91. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mrs. Madelyn “Maggie” Halphen of Opelousas, daughters, Bambi Hicks and husband, Jimmy of Grand Coteau, and Dru Summer of Fayetteville Georgia, stepsons, Donnie Fitzgerald and his wife, Charlotte of Opelousas and their three daughters, Nicole, Lauren, & Allie; Scott Fitzgerald of Opelousas & his daughter Jennifer, grandchildren; Charlie Hicks and his wife, Jenna, James Hicks and his wife, Ginny, Jake Summer and his wife, Katherine, Ben Summer and his wife, Rebecca, Samantha Spier and her husband Bob, great grandchildren, Henry Hicks, Mayhem Hicks, Sophie Summer, Lucas Summer, Linus Summer, Finn Summer, Piper Spier, and Clementine Spier. His Sister, Julie Torian of Opelousas.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Milton “Mike” and Julie Halphen, sister, Kitty Prather, and brother, Milton "Sonny" Halphen, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, with a Rosary to be recited at 11:45 a.m.
