Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Bayou Rouge Baptist Church Cemetery in Evergreen, LA. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the services.
Leah was a native of Bunkie and a longtime resident of Palmetto, LA. She passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015, at Promise Hospital in Baton Rouge at the age of 87. She loved being a homemaker, spending time with her family and friends, working outside in her yard with her flowers and tending to the animals especially her dogs and cats. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Fernandez of Zachary; one granddaughter, Karen Tullier of Baton Rouge; two great-grandchildren, Logan Tullier of Lake Charles and Zack Tullier of Baton Rouge; one sister, Anna Broussard and husband, John of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Richards; her son-in-law, Joseph Fernandez; her parents, Lemmie Coulon and Ada Whittington Coulon; three brothers, L. C. Coulon, Provoster Coulon, and Jewel Coulon; and two sisters, Lilllie Russell and Florence Juneau.
The visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Friday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home.
