Port Barre-Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence Dupre, 95, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate the Mass.

Mr. Dupre died at 4:45 p.m.; Friday, December 21, 2007 at the J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville.

He was a native of Waxia and a resident of Port Barre. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Dupre was a truck driver in the oilfield business for many years.

Survivors included three daughters; Mary Dupre Fontenot of Waxia, Hazel Dupre Delahoussaye and husband Harry Lee, and Judy Dupre Maricle and husband, Arthur Gene, all of New Iberia,; one brother, Mason Dupre and wife Jean, of Tioga; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dupre of Waxia and Irene Duplechain Meyers of Metairie; 8 grandchildren, Anthony Tony Fontenot and wife, Donna Reed Fontenot, Renee Fontenot Soileau and husband, Terry Soileau, all of Port Barre, Dr. Jason Paul Fontenot and wife, Phyllis Stanford Fonenot, of Washington; Laurie Ann Delahoussaye Stelly, Dean Michael Delahoussaye, all of New Iberia, Gary Jude Delahoussaye and wife, Chanelle Thibaut Delahoussaye of Lafayette; Lawrence Mitchell Maricle and wife Rebekah Carroll Maricle, and Octavia Lynn Maricle Aucoin and husband, Danny Aucoin, all of New Iberia; 17 great-grandchildren, Charles Anthony Charlie Fontenot, and wife , Mary Helen Duplechain Fontenot, Anthony TJ Fontenot, Jr. and wife, Lanie Estilette Fontenot, Eric Kyle Fontenot and Lacie Lynn Fontenot, all of Port Barre, Ashley Nicole Lanclos Artigue and husband, Joey Artigue, and Marc Gabriel Verrette, also of Port Barre, Tyler Bryce Fontenot, Lindsay Brooke Fontenot and Ryan Christopher Fontenot, all of Washington; April Lee Stelly Torres and husband, Hector Eusebio Torres, of Peoria, AZ; Kiley Renee Delahoussaye, and Kasey Lynn Delahoussaye, both of Chesapeake, VA, and Cade Michael Thielen of New Iberia, Bethany Elena Maricle Wolfe and husband, Townsend Wolfe, Gabrielle Elise Maricle, Shea Michael Aucoin and Victoria Elise Aucoin, all of New Iberia; and 6 great-great-grandchildren, Maliah Arsenia Torres and Sophia Marie Torres, of Peoria, AZ; Tyler Anthony Fontenot, Grace Elise Artigue, Savanna Marie Fontenot and Leah Mable Fontenot, all of Port Barre.

Mr. Dupre was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Duplechain Dupre; his parents, Elise Fontenot Dupre and Robert Dupre; his brothers, Clebert, Murphy, Robert, Medric and John Dupre, and sisters Elva Dupre Peterson, Edna Dupre Sibley and Esther Dupre Devillier; , son-in-law, Luna Fontenot; granddaughter, Nancy Leigh Delahoussaye Kibodeaux and her husband, Brudley Ray Kibodeaux, II.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Thursday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
