Opelousas– A Memorial Service will be held for Lavaria Baham on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Opelousas (3835 I-49 S Service Rd., Opelousas, LA 70570). Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pastor Joel Murrah will officiate the service.

Lavaria, a resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest at the age 58, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Lavaria, was a traveler, she loved shopping, going to the beach, swimming, decorating for the holidays, and her favorite color was purple. Most of all, she loved visiting and spending time with her loving family. She was known to have a big heart and share her love with everyone, it was with that passion she was a giver and a caregiver, as she always took care of others. She would rather serve than be served, she would always give back to her community. She would give unselfishly to the community and anyone in need.

Lavaria is survived by her husband, Keith Lynn Baham; son, Wesley Dane Meaux; bonus son, Chad Baham (Gina); daughter, Kristen Leigh Silliman (Andrew); bonus daughter, Sheri Cormier (Mike); sisters, Diana Dale Meaux, Linda Marie Sawyer, Denise Leblanc, Sandy Lopez, and Alwona Oldenkamp; grandchildren, Benson Lee, Taylen Joy, Daniel, Drue, Christian, Jessie, Olivia, and Zane Michael.

Lavaria is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Meaux and Elma May Bruney Meaux; daughter, Joy May Scott; brother, Albert “Buddie” Meaux, JR.; sister, Pat Aporize Smith; and special niece, Karlie Jarvis.
