Laura Meche

Opelousas -Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Marks Meche will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016, in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park with Fr. Gary Schexnayder will be officiating.
Mrs. Meche was a native of Arnaudville and a long time resident of Opelousas. She died on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette at the age of 93. Her greatest love was visiting with her children and grandchildren. She is going to be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Meche of Arnaudville; three daughters, Shirley Soileau and husband, James of Katy, TX; Diana Dore and husband, Charles of Opelousas; and Connie Guilbeaux and husband, Roney of Lafayette; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Daniel Meche; her son, Joseph Carroll Meche; her parents, Alexson Marks and Nedia Guilbeau; her grandchild, Vincent Meche; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Vidrine, Kevin Vidrine, Brady Meche, Albert Meche, Danny Meche, Brian Dore, and Mike Meche.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 1, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
