Larry Andrus, Sr.

Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for, Larry Andrus, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Pastor Benji Richard will officiate the Service. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Larry, age 66, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2018, at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by his loving family. Larry was an avid hunter, fisherman, loving father, and grandfather, that loved spending time having cook outs, dancing, loving life to the fullest, he never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He was a State Golden Glove Boxer Champ, Tug Boat Captain, Pilot License for Solo Flights. He was a devoted father of 8 children. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Rocky James Andrus (Robyn) of Port Barre, Belinda Wimberley (Bryon) of Cankton, LA., Connie Brandon (Brett) of Middleriver, MN., Bonnie Andrus, of New Mexico, Crystal Godeaux (Kenneth Sr.,) of Scott, La., Charli Hazel (Aubrey) of New Orleans, Chelsie Saucier (Adam) Saucier of Leonville, former wife and mother of his children Vicky Richard of Opelousas, brothers, David Andrus (Glenda) of Opelousas, and Allen Andrus (Vickie) of Opelousas. Sisters, Geraldine Andrus of Port Barre and Charlene Andrus of Port Barre, granddaughters, Alexis Joubert, Blanche Wimberley, Lyndsey Andrus, Shannon Andrus, Cheyenne Johnson, Kaylee Fontenot, Chloe Sarver, Evie Soileau and Ellie Kate Saucier, grandsons, Brock Wimberley, Briggs Wimberley, Ty Joubert, Kenneth Godeaux, Jr., Trevor Godeaux, Landon Godeaux, Bentley Andrus, Braxton Andrus, Eli Soileau, Drake Saucier, Hudson Saucier, Tyler Rodrigue and Jeffery Kayne, and 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard J. Andrus and Elsie Dekerlegand Andrus, and son, Larry James Andrus, Jr.

The family requests visitation be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Pallbearers will be Bryon Wimberley, Adam Saucier, Brock Wimberley, Ty Joubert, Kenneth Godeaux, Jr. and Trevor Godeaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rocky Andrus, Bentley Andrus, Braxton Andrus, Eli Soileau, Drake Saucier, Hudson Saucier, Briggs Wimberley, Landon Godeaux, Tyler Rodrigue, and Jeffery Kayne.

In Lieu of flowers donation can be made to the family.
