Kenneth Dude Badeaux
Port Barre Funeral services for Kenneth Dude Badeaux, age 62, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011, with a Mass Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Daniel Picard will officiate the service.
Kenneth was a native of Pecanaire, La and a long time resident of Port Barre. He passed away at his home on Monday February 7, 2011 after losing his battle with Cancer.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his Country in the Vietnam War. He began working as a dragline operator then went on to work at Dupuis Memorial doing cement and column work. He spent his last years working at Sauciers Hardware Rental which later became Arnauds Rental. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed building his Robots and spending time with his friend and family.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Virginia Ozan Badeaux of Port Barre, two sons, Kenneth and his wife, Allison and Timothy and his wife, Jas all of Arnaudville, his two grandsons, Chaz and Baylon and a granddaughter, Abigail who will be arriving in April. His mother Florence Badeaux of Baton Rouge five sisters Nancy Saizon of Arnaudville, Elsie Richard and Florence Lalonde and husband John of Lake Charles, Loretta Fontenot of Jennings, and Denise Janise and husband, Dean of Denham Springs. Two sister in laws, Emma Badeaux of Dallas Tx, and Mary Badeaux of Iowa, his godchildren Judice Cricket Ardoin, Cherie New, Tina Guillory, and Fred Lanclos, and host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Badeaux, three brothers Francis, Lonnie and Lewis Badeaux, one sister Gloria Judy Andrus, his maternal grandparents, Placide and Denise Laviolette Lalonde, his paternal grandparents, Floreston and Cecile Lanclos Badeaux.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Badeaux, Timothy Badeaux, Chris Badeaux, Fred Lanclos, Dean Janise and David Janise.
Honary pallbeares will be Chaz and Baylon Badeaux.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Father Daniel Picard and Hospice of Acadiana, his nurses, Suzanna Stelly and Cynthia Smith. Also to all the friends and family for their help and continued prayers during this time of need.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday morning at 8:00 am until time of service at 1:30 p.m.
A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
