Keith Kappy Anthony Potier
Opelousas - Memorial services for Mr. Keith Anthony Potier, known to many of his friends as Padre or Kappy, age 62, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Chapel of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Mr. Potier was born in Lafayette and was a resident of Opelousas. He died on Sunday evening on August 23, 2009, at his home.
His adult journey began in the priesthood. Then, he worked for Abbott Laboratories in the Hospital Division for 27 years. After retiring in 2003, his life-time dream of opening a Mom and Pop store came about when he opened Crossroad Antiques and Collectibles in Opelousas. In 2007, he opened Kappy's Korner in Opelousas which was named by his granddaughter, Brie.
He was an exceptional in
idual who lived life full of spirit, love, friendliness, and humor. He was a very loving husband of 20 years and a wonderful and devoted father and friend. He was an excellent grandfather who never knew how much a person loves until he had his granddaughter and loved to spend time with his Termite especially after school. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mourning his death yet cherishing his wonderful memories are his loving wife, Penny Potier of Opelousas; one son, Scott Piccione of Houston; one daughter, Angela Angie Savoy of Opelousas; one brother, Timothy Potier of Oberlin; one sister, Sally Potier of Lafayette; one granddaughter, Brie Savoy of Opelousas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents: Murphy Potier and Frances Mrs. Delicious Patin Potier; and one brother, Vic Potier.
The family is requesting that the gathering of family and friends will be in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
