Katherine Ward

OpelousasA Memorial Mass for Katherine Budd Ward, age 88 will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014, at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Opelousas, LA. Fr. Pete Smith will be the celebrant.

Katherine Budd Ward passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on December 17, 2014. Katherine was born on February 8, 1926, to Charles and Rena Budd of Opelousas. She was a native and long time resident of Opelousas. She was currently residing in Lafayette. She was a graduate of SLI where she earned her degree in education. She was a teacher for many years and retired as principal from Cherry Street Academy now known as Acadiana Prep. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by three daughters, Jo Ann Considine and her husband, John of Gulf Breeze, FL Cindy Guillory and her husband, Robert of Lafayette and Martha Antoun and her husband, Georges of Pensacola Beach, FL her seven adoring grandchildren, Sallie Guillory, Leslie Guillory, Heidi Guillory, Hannah Guillory, and Katherine Antoun all of Lafayette Laura Woods and her husband, Garret of Shreveport and Jed Antoun of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cotton Ward son, Andy Ward her parents, Charles and Rena McKinney Budd, Sr. and two brothers, Dr. James Jimmy Budd and Charles Buddy Budd, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany of Opelousas at 10:00 a.m. with a service following at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 1103 South Union Street, Opelousas, LA 70570.
