Katherine McClelland Sibille

Grand Coteau Funeral Services Katherine McClelland Sibille, age 84, will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Charles Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Fr. James Lambert will celebrate the mass.
Katherine was a native of Lawtell and a long time resident of Grand Coteau she passed away at Opelousas General Health System, on January 24, 2011.
Katherine and her late husband Woody were married for 61 years. She was member of the St. Charles Catholic Church since 1948. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a very dear and loyal friend to many people who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered as Kat to those who knew her. She belonged to the Sunset Garden Club and the Altar Society at the St. Charles Catholic Church. She was the church organist since 1948 until she retired in 2009, and also the music minister at the church. She enjoyed playing for weddings, funerals and entaining guest at her home while playing the piano while cooking a great meal for her friends and family. Her most memorable and enjoyable times were dancing with Woody each weekend with their friends.
Music selections will be played by Rendall James and Gwen Miller.
A special thanks to Peggy Jones who cared for Katherine during her later years.
Survivors include her sons Patrick Pat Sibille of Aberdeen, Scotland, Dwight D Sibille of Sunset, two grandchildren Nathan Sibille and Justin Sibille.
Preceded in death by her parents Lee and Marie Isaac McClelland, and her husband, Woodrow Woody Sibille.
The family has requested that the visitation be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 2:00 pm 9:00 pm and will reopen on Friday Morning at 8:00 am until time of service at 11:00am.
A rosary service will be prayed by, Sammy Diesi at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home.
