Julia Alice McCabe Palazzo
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Alice McCabe Palazzo, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 21, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La. Mrs. Palazzo passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008 at her residence.
Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La. Father Angelo Cremaldi and Deacon Sammy Diesi will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. Palazzo was born in Monroe, La.; she lived the majority of her life in Braithwaite, La. before moving to Opelousas in 2001, to be near her loving family and friends. Mrs. Palazzo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived a very full and beautiful life. There was nothing she couldn't do or would not try. Her energy and determination were relentless. Her faith kept her strong and genuine.
Survivors included her husband of 65 years, Angelo A. Palazzo, of Opelousas; one daughter, Alice Palazzo Morrow and husband Patrick C. Morrow, of Opelousas; three grandchildren, P. Craig Morrow, Jr. and wife, Nicole B. Morrow; Celeste M. Morrow; Charlotte M. Moreau and husband, Al Moreau III; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Tyler, Savannah, and Blair Morrow; Ava Grace, Aidan, and Luke Moreau. She also had numerous nieces, and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Palazzo was preceded in death by her parents; James Julian McCabe and Myrtis Ida Boies McCabe; one sister, Marie M. Bowman.
Visiting hours will be observed at the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and continue on Monday, April 21,2008 from 8:30 a.m. until time of service in the Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held on Sunday night at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Catholic Deaf Action Center, 1408 Carmel Ave. Lafayette, La.
The family would like to thank the following people for their endless support and help during this most trying time for the family: Wayne and Ginger Doucet, Chantel Lemaire, Virgie Edmond, Dr. Michael Burnell, Helen Williams, Willie Mae Bowman, Catherine Guilbeau, Clara Augustine, Patsy Bullara, Father Cremaldi and Sammy Diesi.
