Judy Young

Funeral services for Judy Young, age 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Father Dan Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Judy was a native and a long time resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at her home.
Judy was employed by the St. Landry Parish School Board for over 20 years and she loved being with her coworkers. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially with her great nephews. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Judy was a very special person to many people and she loved to go out to eat with her friends.
Survivors include her sister, Emma Jane Butch Lanclos of Port Barre, her brother, Toby Young of Port Barre, her nieces, Peggy Smith, Dodi Young Ryder and her husband Matthew of Port Barre, Kylie Young Thibodeaux and her husband, Jason of Leonville, her nephews, Brother Smith of Lafayette, George Buster Lanclos and wife Charlotte of Port Barre and Jodi Lanclos, her great nephews, Adan, Keaton, Tucker, Cory and Cole great nieces, Lindsey and Chelsea one greatgreat niece, Jolene Lanclos and a special loyal pet, Fuzzy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Annie Lou Wheaton Young her sister, Gloria Smith and brotherinlaw Wilbert Smith.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Sunday, September 11, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
